“When Simplicity is broken up, it is made into instruments. Evolved individuals who employ them, are made into leaders. In this way, the Great System is United.”
- Lao Tzu
Hello Friends…
I wanted to follow-up from yesterday’s post with the keys to an effective referral system, as promised. As we discussed, a system is a predictable, consistent and repeatable process and for this process to positively impact all parties involved it must have the following characteristics:
- All parties involved must perceive the system as a win for them. A true Win-Win for all involved.
- The results must be measured and improved upon.
- Referral Systems must be as much a part of your business as your billing and your hiring.
- It must be a process that is step-by-step.
Let’s take a quick look at these key components starting with the Win-Win philosophy…
When you start working with others, to build a steady stream of referral systems for your business, you will be helping them achieve their goals too. In a post, sometime soon, we will discuss the concept of ethical bribes as part of some of our referral systems, but suffice it to say that the folks that help you will be winning too.
Measuring and improving on results is an important piece of any system. If you are not measuring the success or failure of any process you implement you only have a hobby. What we are striving for is a real process that can change the way new customers flow into your business.
Referral systems must be as important as your billing and hiring processes. You are in the business of driving more customers to your company then taking care of them to achieve growth. I recently heard a recording of an interview of Mark Stevens. Mark wrote a book called, Your Management Sucks and is a brilliant marketing and business consultant. In the recording and in the book he discusses the formula C+A+M=PG. The PG represents Perpetual Growth and the C in the formula represents Capture Customers. I won’t ruin the book for you but my point is. you have to have customers first before you can achieve growth. That’s what referral marketing systems can do for you.
You will discover that the referral marketing systems we discuss are step-by-step processes. The simplicity of a system is a measurement of its effectiveness. That’s how pimply faced hormonal teenagers can make the stuff at a fast food restaurant.
I hope you were able to extract some value from this information. If you would leave comments below it would be appreciated.
Stay Focused!
