Cold Calling Stinks!

Cold calling really REALLY stinks! I don’t know about you but when I started in the sellin’ biz my boss told me to start calling people out of the phone book.  I did it because that was, “The Way We Do It ‘Round Here!”

Well, after awhile I was certain that if I did it the way they ‘do it around here’ I would have been broke.  What I discovered was the magic of referral marketing systems to grow my business.  Here is what I discovered about referral marketing systems (RMS)…

  • RMS can increase your business in multiples.
  • RMS decrease your cost of acquiring new customers both in time and $.
  • RMS free you up to work on you business instead of in your business.
  • Referred customers spend more money and come back and buy from you more often.
  • Referred prospects convert to customer easier than those received from advertising.
  • Referred customers complain less and most important they, more often, pay on time.

One important distinction I want to make is that referral marketing systems are very different than getting a lead from a friend.  When a friend tells somebody about your business this is word-of-mouth and was delivered by circumstance or chance.

Not a bad way to get a referral but very different from a referral marketing system.  Keyword emphasis on SYSTEM.  A system is much more than a circumstantial way of getting a referral.  A system is a proven, predictable, repeatable way of consistently producing referrals each and every month, month after month!
